Stop Feeding the Loan Sharks

Credit-card companies take unfair advantage of us. Let’s revolt.

Workers at the largest financial institutions are on pace to earn as much money this year as they did before the economic collapse, according to a recent article in The New York Times. Goldman Sachs just set aside $4.7 billion for bonuses and compensation in the first quarter. And traders and investment bankers at JP Morgan Chase are projected to earn an average of over $500,000 this year….

So I’m introducing a plan that can take effect as soon as your next billing cycle. Let’s stop paying our bills. Millions of us all at once can tell our unscrupulous credit-card lenders that we won’t pay them another cent until they make the terms more reasonable. There’s no regulation that says they have to wait until the law passes. >>>

  3. Thank you for presenting an idea whose time has come again.
We are being exploited by our system. The banks through their malfeasance have created this financial crisis. Now the American consumer is paying to bail them out. Their thanks is to constrict credit, raise fees and foreclose! Oh! and also we get to pay for bonuses that would just about cure anyones mortgage. It should be obvious to anyone that the business of our government is business, not you and me. Historically when this last happened on our shores, the American people revolted against tyranny. (“tyranny” noun. cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power.) Americans fought and died right here on our own soil, not some foreign land for the principles we hold dear. Will the American people stand up now to again defend our principles. Not by fighting and dying, but simply by putting a lid on their checkbooks. I doubt it.
The American people have become complacent, powerless and fearful. Not that long ago Americans had ideals. It was the people not the government that finally pushed this country onto the road to equality. The people not the government that put an end to an unjustifiable war in Asia. Where are those ideals now people. A “Consumer Credit Holiday” is justifiable and do-able if the willingness to stand up for yourself is there. It is simple, non-confrontational and WILL deliver a message from the American people. Set a date and count me in.
