In Final Letters, Hussein Complained of Being Tortured

Saddam Hussein complained of torture in letters to his interrogators and complained that his cell was a horrible place to spend his final days, according to documents obtained by James Meek of the New York Daily News.
The Daily News quoted the letters and printed a copy of one of them in its original Arabic. Hussein alleged beatings and of being kept where he was forced to endure the screams of others being tortured — thought to be at Baghdad International Airport. Meek notes that Hussein was accused of torturing and killing thousands himself during his 24-year reign. >>>
