Clashes as Hungary Appoints New PM

Several hundred protesters have clashed with police in the Hungarian capital, just hours after parliament elected a new prime minister.
Police said the protesters, who had gathered around the parliament building in Budapest after an earlier official right-wing demonstration, “tried to break through the fences around parliament and threw different kinds of objects at policemen”.
Officers responded to the attack with tear gas grenades.
Several civil associations had attended the demonstration against Tuesday’s election of Gordon Bajnai, who was elected by a constructive vote of no-confidence, a legal structure that allows for a change of premier without general elections.
The protesters demanded that he step down immediately and call general elections. >>>
